August Round Up

WHAT A MONTH!

A wild month of events for Team Mondo has come to an end and we are both grateful and a wee bit exhausted!

Kicking it all off with weekly appearances at Vauxhall Summer Screen, we lucked out with the weather each week and loved pouring beers for all you cinema goers. One of our highlights from the event was the singalong at the end of Mamma Mia – it was so nice to see the community together again enjoying themselves! Special mention must go to our friends at The Jolly Gardeners who kept us well fed with their delicious burgers every week!

At the beginning of August we were invited down to pour at the Dishoom Family Mela. Our relationship with Dishoom is one we value greatly so we couldn’t wait to provide pints for all of their staff and families. We’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who organised the event and invited Team Mondo down to enjoy the day with all of the Dishoom team. The sun was shining, the beer was flowing and it’s a day we’ll all remember for a long time to come.

THE BIG’UN.

The next weekend was the big one – London Craft Beer Festival. It’s always been a highlight of the craft beer year and 2021 was no exception! Tobacco Dock was filled with likeminded people who were excited to be back at a beer festival and not having it last year made the whole weekend all the more special. (Social) distance makes the heart grow fonder right? Not only did we have a wonderful time pouring but we also had the best time seeing all of our old friends from the beer community.

Mondo beers also made a wee appearance all across London that weekend at various events. With two lines of Mondo pouring at The Haggerston Felix Hall event and cans heading out at Mam Sham x Dark Arts Coffee, Homerton Holiday Park event – it was a good weekend to be a Mondo fan!

A SPICY FEW WEEKS.

Our collab with Rock Leopard Brewing, The Thin Line Between Silence and Approval, had its first pour at LCBF but its true launch party was at Indie Beer the week after. A great crowd came down to try the beer and listen to Stacey from Rock Leopard speak about the brew, the beer and Voyage Youth – the charity that will be receiving a portion of the profits from this collab.

To round off the month, we were the beer partner for The Hot Sauce Society festival in Peckham. Not the biggest event in terms of footfall but by far the biggest event for us as a team. We built the bar from scratch and were the sole beer providers for the weekend. Not to be dramatic, but it was better than any of us could have possibly imagined! A giant thanks must go to Allie, the founder of Hot Sauce Society, who trusted us with the beery needs of the weekend and let us set up a big old bar inside of a warehouse. Honourable mention to the wonderful Coleen and James of DuckChicken Cider who not only provided us with their incredible maisonette to pour but who actually came down and bartended with us for the whole weekend – couldn’t have pulled it off without them!

It’s safe to say this month has been an absolute whirlwind for Team Mondo but we wouldn’t have changed a thing! Here’s to the next month of beer, friends and events!

Cheers,
Team Mondo x
