HOW’S IT GOZA?

Introducing our latest fruited gose, brewed with Canarian friends.

MAY 2019

Co-Founder/Head Brewer Tom and the protean Mihono (our Mo) were visiting Lanzarote for some R&R; the perfect opportunity to build a friendship with the island brewery, NAO. Beers were drunk, and a beer was brewed, resulting in the well received Not Exactly A NEIPA. We of course invited Miguel & Loreto (seen below at our November Good Harvest festival) over to visit our Battersea home and collaborate on the return leg. The nucleus of the beer was designed over pints in November with the idea to release in Spring, with Miguel’s blessing. Lockdown put paid to those release plans, but we think you’ll agree it’s a most welcome addition to our summer range.

OH JOY

Extra Pale Ale malt and Wheat provide the base, with Acidulated Malt and Lactose. Citra hops for bittering. Kettle soured with Lactobacillus brevis. Fermented with our house English Ale yeast strain. Brewed with sea salt and coriander seeds. Conditioned on prickly pear cactus and guava.

Packaging Friday 26th June and available from our web shop from Monday 29th June, you can see more of the beer in our archive. The beer is fruity and lightly tart, with the addition of sea salt defining it as a gose. Classed as triple* fruited, we conditioned it post-fermentation on prickly pear cactus, guava *aaaand not sure we put a third fruit in, just double the guava! We called it goza on Miguel’s suggestion, the word meaning joy in Spanish. We could all do with a little of that right now. Adiós.
